Is the litter flushable?

Experts have differing opinions on the safety to the environment in relation to flushing cat waste within public water systems.  Cat waste should not be flushed in a septic system, as there is not the necessary chemical balance.

Clay and Diatomite Litters should NEVER be flushed, but our Corn & WheatOrganic Soy and Silica Litters can be.

Although Kitty Poo Club litters are derived from naturally occurring materials, we don't recommend you flush it, specifically because of feline feces. (It's the feline feces that can be harmful, not the litter itself.) Feline feces may contain toxoplasmosis which is a parasite that can be very harmful to marine life.

We recommend that you use your own discretion.
